Gantry robots perform automated grabbing, handling, loading‑unloading and rotary actions following pre‑programmed instructions for modern industrial lines. Truman’s custom‑built anode plate loading gantry robot is specially engineered for metallurgical workshops to realize unmanned anode‑plate transfer between different RGV trolleys, supporting seamless data communication with MES and raw‑material information management systems.
Equipped with a rotary gripper, this heavy‑duty gantry robot picks 12 pieces of anode plates from a 5‑ton RGV trolley, rotates them, and sequentially places the workpieces onto the shelf of a 20‑ton RGV trolley. The robot can identify four distinct placement positions on the 20‑ton RGV and completes four loading cycles under host‑computer counting control. It greatly boosts throughput and eliminates heavy‑manual‑labor risks in metal smelting workshops.
The complete mechanical system consists of support columns, X‑axis, Z‑axis, R rotary‑axis, special gripper and full‑set electrical control cabinet. Servo‑driven axes deliver smooth, fast and reliable cyclic movements for continuous heavy‑load production.
It delivers outstanding heavy‑duty technical performance: 5500kg rated payload, 6.04 m X‑axis stroke, 1.4 m Z‑axis stroke, and 90‑degree R‑axis rotation. X‑axis speed reaches 0.5 m/s, Z‑axis speed 0.1 m/s, rotary speed ranges 0‑10 r/min, with repeated positioning accuracy of ±3 mm, meeting strict metallurgical production requirements.
Standard workflow: The 5‑ton RGV transports anode plates and sends ready signal to host system. The host triggers the gantry robot to grab anode plates. After picking, the robot sends unloading request. Upon receiving the unloading command, it transfers 12 anode plates to designated positions on the 20‑ton RGV, and the host counts 4 complete loading cycles.
