Industrial facilities with potentially explosive atmospheres face significant challenges for automated material transfer. Standard robotic handling equipment cannot be deployed in such high‑risk workshops, as regular electrical components may generate sparks that trigger safety hazards. Custom‑built for flammable and explosive working conditions, this explosion‑proof truss manipulator delivers reliable automated loading, unloading and handling for cylindrical workpieces, solving safety and productivity pain‑points for chemical, new‑energy and special‑material manufacturing sites.
Fitted with a purpose‑built rotary gripper, the unit completes full workflow including gripping, flipping and positional adjustment of cylindrical materials throughout loading‑unloading cycles. Every motion is executed with stable running status and repeatable positioning accuracy, greatly improving handling flexibility and overall line throughput. Safety is embedded into every hardware layer of the machine: explosion‑proof construction materials and certified explosion‑proof servo motors are adopted as core drive components, lowering ignition risks and allowing continuous secure operation within dangerous production atmospheres.
The truss‑style robot supports 30 kg rated payload while offering generous travel ranges to match real‑world factory layouts. Its X‑axis reaches 4.15 metres, Y‑axis covers 3.2 metres and vertical Z‑axis runs up to 1.2 metres, covering a broad operational window for cylindrical‑part logistics. Adjustable travelling speed optimises cycle efficiency: X‑axis and Y‑axis move between 0‑0.5 m/s, and Z‑axis lifting speed ranges 0‑0.2 m/s to avoid unstable sway during pick‑and‑place tasks. An integrated R‑axis enables 90‑degree rotation, so cylindrical goods can be flipped and re‑oriented without extra manual intervention, which is critical for downstream machining or packaging procedures. The system maintains ±1 mm positioning accuracy across the full stroke, securing consistent alignment for repetitive production tasks.
Compared with manual operation inside explosive‑risk zones, the explosion‑proof truss manipulator keeps human operators away from hazardous working spots, cutting occupational safety risks substantially. Its rigid truss frame absorbs operational vibration, and sealed explosion‑proof electrical assemblies resist interference from onsite gas or dust pollution. Since all motion parameters can be pre‑programmed, production rhythm stays steady without fatigue‑related performance drops seen in labour‑driven workflows.
Integrating this gantry‑type handling solution helps manufacturers balance safety compliance and manufacturing output. Rather than compromising throughput for site safety rules, factories can automate cylindrical‑material workflows end‑to‑end. The manipulator adapts to diverse hazardous‑zone layouts, bringing predictable uptime, reduced labour cost and better process consistency for modern industrial plants operating under strict explosion‑protection requirements.
