In industrial sectors including logistics‑warehousing, steel processing, general manufacturing and new‑energy industries, automatic handling, palletizing, loading‑unloading and warehousing operations for rolled materials play a critical role in automated production lines and intelligent logistics systems. Truss manipulators realize intelligent roll‑material handling, boost production efficiency and lower labor input, and have been widely adopted across multiple industries. This article introduces Truman’s custom solution for the empty‑roll‑shaft handling truss manipulator.
Deployed in empty‑roll‑shaft storage zones and cooperating with AGVs, this truss manipulator automatically grabs and transports empty roll shafts to target positions, completing automatic pick‑and‑place cycles for empty rolls.
The complete system consists of support columns, X‑axis, Y‑axis, Z‑axis linear mechanisms, custom grippers and electrical control system. Featuring fast response, smooth motion, high safety and efficiency, the equipment effectively reduces labor costs.

The truss manipulator grabs empty roll shafts according to system instructions.
It transports the shafts to the weighing station; weight data is uploaded to the host system after measurement.
The manipulator delivers empty roll shafts to the storage‑zone gateway and places them onto AGVs.
