6-Axis Mold Cutting Truss Robot

With the widespread adoption of industrial automation, truss manipulators have become core equipment for automated machining, including cutting, milling, drilling, edge trimming and polishing. Truman’s self-developed six-axis mold cutting truss manipulator is specially designed for sanitary ware and mold edge trimming processes. It replaces manual trimming with fully automatic operation, delivering clean cutting edges, precise control and consistent product quality. The equipment effectively reduces defective rates, saves labor costs and improves overall workshop productivity.

The complete system consists of a steel truss structure, self-developed SCARA manipulator, precision tooling fixtures, lifting and material-transfer mechanisms, and rotary positioning systems. The integrated structural design ensures high rigidity, stable operation and flexible multi-angle machining. Equipped with professional cutting saw tools, it realizes fully automatic edge trimming for bathtubs and various molded workpieces.

The self-developed SCARA manipulator features compact structure, fast operating speed and high transmission accuracy, with a maximum load of 15kg. It cooperates with the rotary positioner to complete omnidirectional trimming. The 360° rotary positioner is installed under the tooling fixture, adopting single-axis servo drive to guarantee high rigidity, precise positioning and stable rotation. Matching conductive slip rings support 360° continuous rotation, ensuring safe and stable operation of multiple material detection sensors.

The lifting material transfer mechanism is composed of lifting cylinders and driving units. It realizes vertical lifting and accurate positioning of bathtubs and molds on the conveying line, providing stable workpiece support for high-precision cutting operations.

This six-axis truss robot supports customizable stroke specifications and high-speed multi-axis linkage. The X-axis stroke ranges from 1000mm to 4000mm with a max speed of 50m/min, adopting dual-motor rack-and-pinion bilateral drive. The Y-axis covers 1000–3000mm with a speed up to 50m/min via rack-and-pinion drive. The Z-axis reaches 1000mm with a max speed of 30m/min using lead screw drive. The 4th, 5th and 6th rotary axes achieve speeds of 325°/s, 400°/s and 450°/s respectively, enabling flexible, dead-angle-free complex trimming.

Suitable for sanitary ware trimming, mold cutting and irregular workpiece edge processing, this customizable six-axis truss manipulator ensures uniform machining effects and stable batch production quality.
