6-Axis Mold Drilling Truss Robot

Traditional manual drilling and grooving for bathtub and mold processing in the sanitaryware industry faces prominent drawbacks, including severe dust pollution, harsh working environments, low output efficiency and inconsistent machining quality. To solve these industry pain points, Truman launched the six-axis automatic mold drilling truss robot, a specialized automated solution for multi-size bathtub drilling tasks. It delivers smooth, crack-free holes with clean edges, no chipping, scratches or corner damage, ensuring stable finished quality while improving operational safety and reducing overall production costs.

This six-axis drilling truss robot adopts a hybrid structural design combining traditional machine tool rigidity and robotic arm flexibility, achieving perfect balance between stability and multi-dimensional machining capability. The X, Y and Z axes adopt standard coordinate truss traveling structure, greatly enhancing overall equipment rigidity, structural stability and expanding the effective working coverage. The 4th, 5th and 6th axes adopt flexible robotic arm mechanisms, enabling multi-degree-of-freedom, dead-angle-free drilling and grooving for complex curved bathtub surfaces and special-shaped molds.

The equipment is equipped with professional lifting cylinders and precision tooling fixtures with mold guiding mechanisms. After the mold and bathtub are in place, the lifting system accurately lifts the tooling for precise positioning, effectively eliminating displacement errors and ensuring high-precision drilling procedures. The whole-process automated positioning and drilling process minimizes manual intervention and guarantees consistent batch machining accuracy.

Designed for high-efficiency and stable industrial operation, the machine supports customizable stroke ranges and high-speed multi-axis linkage. The X-axis features a customizable stroke of 1000–4000mm with a maximum speed of 50m/min, driven by single-motor bilateral rack-and-pinion system. The Y-axis offers 1000–3000mm customizable stroke and a speed up to 50m/min via rack-and-pinion drive. The Z-axis reaches 1000mm customizable stroke with a max speed of 30m/min through lead screw drive. The 4th, 5th and 6th rotary axes achieve high dynamic speeds of 325°/s, 400°/s and 450°/s respectively, supporting flexible and efficient omnidirectional drilling.
